One day I will post pictures from my trek across Canada.

Until I find a more productive means of organizing my thoughts on all this...
There is not enough time in a day to filter through all the information that has been made available in the last weeks. I am trying my hardest to read as much as I can. The backlash against this all is scaring me, so I will just keep reading; accessing information as a form of quiet protest.
- The Vatican and Ireland
- Canada and the Cables
- Summary of important revelations by the Globe - some interesting oversights I thought of off the top of my head: no mention of child prostitution in Afghanistan, and no mention of the US and China blocking the Copenhagen Accord
- Leakspin Quality Control - Crowdsourcing journalism, not without an interest in quality of sources, truth in citation.
- Wish List, or Covet Thy Neighbour - argument that the cable that reveals a "terrorist wishlist" does not even list American resources.
- Anonymous, etc. - Summary of Anonymous' efforts, along with another summary of important leaks.
- More Anon. - Article that ends with something of a manifesto.
I had a few more links, but the browser crashed. Maybe I should stop opening so many tabs.

Serious Vanity
Another trip to the brickworks. A real photoshoot must take place here soon, but for now vain self portraits with beautiful light have taken up my time.
Brickworks, part 1
One of the lovely things about driving is suddenly things that seemed so inaccessible are at your fingertips. Like the Don Valley Brickworks. No more hiking through the valley to get there, just once you get there.
Anthony, Dylan and I pressured Alex Chiu into taking a bunch of pictures of us.

Love to be
Referencing Neutral Milk Hotel lyrics is a long standing hobby of mine, so I thought why not make it permanent. With a tattoo!
More pics of it when I put up images from my many brickworks adventures.

Waystation!
We've been making progress with the Waysation exhibit! Today I finally brought my camera to document our process and the chaos that it entails. A lovely walk through the brickworks followed, but was not documented. You must take my word for the loveliness. That being said, after the break are some pictures of our work in progress.

old familiar way
Today I decided to get a tattoo. Not of this, but it would be super cool. As soon as I find time, I shall do it.

Adventures in Detroit
A few weeks ago I embarked on a road trip to spread the good word about WORN Fashion Journal. It's really the only thing I am evangelical about, so selling the mag at the craft fair at the Detroit Maker Faire seemed like a perfect opportunity to get my preach on. With such thoughts in mind, Serah-Marie, the driving force behind all things WORN, her husband Ted, her cousin Liam and I embarked on our journey. And we only listening to music from Detroit!
Pictures and musings after the break.

I'm scared to death that I'm living a life not worth dying for.
I've been spending a lot of my time lately working on an installation for Nuit Blanche that I am doing with Bene Corpo. The space is going to be a meeting place for members of a post-industrial, post-climate change (generally post-apocalyptic) society and we are building an encampment and having actors populate the space.
This article really sums up why I want to do this project. I can't quite advocate assassination of CEOs, but making public art as an act of political resistance seems an appropriate response to the horrors of predatory capitalism. Derrick Jensen muses on whether or not our culture will undergo a voluntary transformation to sustainable living:
"For the last several years I've taken to asking people this question, at talks and rallies, in libraries, on buses, in airplanes, at the grocery store, the hardware store. Everywhere. The answers range from emphatic 'No's' to laughter. No one answers in the affirmative. One fellow at one talk did raise his hand and when everyone looked at him, he dropped his hand, then said, sheepishly, 'Oh, voluntary? No, of course not.'
Admit it, you probably don't have faith that our governments are going to make radical changes to reverse climate change. I don't. Because they haven't.
So, for now I am venting my rage into furiously making a strange environment that hopefully will make those who enter reevaluate the way they interact with the world.
So, come find our installation on October 2nd, or read things and get angry.

36-24-36, I want lots of pretty chicks!
Getting ready for the day seems overwhelming. I shall provide some lovely pictures as an awesome form of procrastination.

Past and Pending
It seems so long ago now, but back in the winter the talented Alyssa photographed some of my work. Enjoy!
The first!
It seems an appropriate time in my life to start a blog. Here goes.
Why is this a post unto itself? Because I need to start somewhere!
